Happy book birthday to ACCOUNTABLE! Award-winning and New York Times–bestselling author Dashka Slater has written a must-read young adult book that explores the real-world consequences of online choices. My entire family read 57 BUS and we will all read this too 💜

The new school year is coming and I’m trying to get back into posting about books that bring me hope and that might bring other people hope too.
Johannes is a dog who lives in a park on an island. Or maybe more accurately, he is a dog who patrols the park. Kind of like God’s assistant, only God in this book is 3 bison. Johannes runs faster than the speed of light—or so he says—but a stunning piece of art can stop him in his tracks. Dave Eggers’ sentences are fun to read and some of them catch in your throat, they’re so moving and true.

HERE AND THERE is going to be in PICTURING HOME, an exhibit at the @carlemuseum August 9-December 31!
So cool! The exhibit is meant to explore different depictions of home through picture books, connect readers to their own homes, especially those that may be far away or inaccessible, and consider how we can navigate changes to our home such as moving, gentrification, and natural disaster. (Thank you for the description, Lily García 💜)

The exhibition has 3 parts:
Places We Call Home
Home as Heritage
Home Changes
Thank you, @carlemuseum!
