TELEPHONE OF THE TREE 🌳 is coming May 7! Order it now! Don’t miss this latest book from the only @alisonmcgheewriter on the planet 🩷 I’m in constant search for the loose threads, the tiny holes, the rips in the corners that lead to magic, to hope, to love. I’m telling you—Alison is one of the few people behind it all.

Recently, I’ve been on a mission to make some kind of sense of grief. I often wish I wasn’t on this search. But I am. I guess we all are at some point.

Alison, her words, her books—they’re light as I look. I urge you to find out if they’re light for you too 🩷

Yes. We are small. 🌕🌑🌕🌑🌕🌑🌕🌑🌕
At 3:26 PM in Richmond, Vermont, we'll be in the middle of a total eclipse. I have a feeling I'm going to feel very very small.

If you've got a few minutes, will you listen? @larryholm's beautiful podcast WHAT ABOUT GRIEF? is a tribute to his wife who died in 2021. It's also the journey he is on to understand grief—and the people he meets along the way.

I was so lucky he invited me to chat about @nancyillustrator's and my picture book GRIEF IS AN ELEPHANT along with @kaplowjulie (Exec. Vice President for Trauma & Grief Programs and Policy and Exec. Director, Trauma and Grief Center at the Hackett Center for Mental Health) who taught me so much about the way kids cope with grief and how to support them ❤️

This episode is the perfect example of how words, love, & connection can heal us all, at least a little bit. Find Larry's podcast at Apple Podcasts!

It's such a gift to be able to learn about the process of writing SMALL THINGS MENDED; to learn what you can feel when you read the book—that @nancyillustrator and @cwrobinson's hearts were open wide as they created it together. Congrats you two!

(And Casey, I take great comfort in the fact that you are a slow writer. Me too. Only I don't handle it with grace, like you do!)

Look who came in the mail today! @cwrobinson’s and @nancyillustrator’s Cecil, Eleanor, and Daisy! Stellaluna is eager to read their story—and so am I! Congrats again to you two amazing women 🩷

(Casey, I think your Nancy-elephant and my Nancy-elephant are the best of friends 🩷🐘🩷)
HELLO UNIVERSE is one of the first books I read to my two younger kids and THE first @erinentrada book. We loved it up together. And we still love it.

(My pup, Pax, listened too. He loves it too.)

Erin, thank you for your books—and beautiful you.

Take a sec and go to revisionseason.com. Really! Do it!@elanakarnold is offering her Revision Season Master Class again—the Spring 2024 Session officially begins April 7 and runs until May 30. It is an AMAZING opportunity to learn and practice all aspects of revising and to make friends and have epiphanies along the way. Elana is a generous, insanely smart, and heartful teacher. The class was a turning point for me 🩷 I want to take it again!
Thanks to @csoontornvat for bringing this to my attention—and now I’m going to pass it along!
