Take a sec and go to revisionseason.com. Really! Do it!@elanakarnold is offering her Revision Season Master Class again—the Spring 2024 Session officially begins April 7 and runs until May 30. It is an AMAZING opportunity to learn and practice all aspects of revising and to make friends and have epiphanies along the way. Elana is a generous, insanely smart, and heartful teacher. The class was a turning point for me 🩷 I want to take it again!
Thanks to @csoontornvat for bringing this to my attention—and now I’m going to pass it along!

GRIEF IS AN ELEPHANT has connected @nancyillustrator and me with some stunning organizations doing the utterly vital work of helping children—and all people—navigate grief. @elunanetwork is a brilliant example. We are humbled by what they do. And deeply grateful.

ELUNA supports children and families impacted by grief or addiction. Eluna’s innovative resources and programs address the critical needs of children experiencing powerful, overwhelming and often confusing emotions associated with the death of someone close to them or substance use disorder in their family. No child should have to face these struggles alone, and Eluna’s unique programs bring kids together to ease their pain and provide the tools to help restore hope.

* Camp Erin is the largest national bereavement program for children and families ages 6-17 who are grieving the death of a significant person in their lives. Camp Erin supports children, teens, and families through in-personand online programs, all at no cost.

* Eluna’s Resource Center provides personalized support (in Spanish and English) in addition to resources for families and children affected by grief or addiction. Personalized resources include age-specific articles, videos, recommended books, and local resources & camps specific to your area. Contact Eluna to request personalized support and resources, all at no cost.

GRIEF IS AN ELEPHANT is on a list of 10 books chosen by San Francisco's @48hillssf and @nancyillustrator and I could not be more grateful 💚 Link to the article in bio.

(Also also! Don’t miss @nancyillustrator and @cwrobinson’s gorgeous picture book SMALL THINGS MENDED coming in March!)

I had a great time chatting with Mitch about GRIEF IS AN ELEPHANT! Link to the interview is in my bio. One of my favorite parts of it is talking about @nancyillustrator and her deeply brilliant, beautiful art:

“Love is the reason we feel grief. And so Nancy wanted to make sure that that was apparent. Nancy has the elephant tucking her trunk under her own ear. This is what elephants do when they're sad. She wanted to bring those layers and those truths into the story.”

So deeply important from We Need Diverse Books:

WNDB provides emergency grants to diverse authors and illustrators who are experiencing dire financial need. We are proud to open for a new round of emergency grants, between $500 and $1,000 each. Funding is currently available for LGBTQIA+ creators and/or Palestinian creators.
Since 2020, the emergency grants have provided funding to 91 authors, illustrators, publishing professionals, and educators experiencing financial need. We're grateful to our sponsors who’ve made this initiative possible.
